Action field schools offered an unparalleled educational experience … it is crucial for students to get out into the world and put theory to test … everyone who participates comes home and applies what they've learned in different capacities. For some, that translates to advanced degrees in academia (Erica Henderson, JP Laplante, Nate Einbinder, etc.), for others perhaps political activism, or even just changes in individual choices in one's daily life.
Regardless of your intentions going in, the field school is an experience that challenges students to be critical and rethink their understandings of the world. There is no greater educational experience (in my view) than what Catherine Nolin and Grahame Russell offer to students - an opportunity to open our minds and our hearts to the world around us.
