Containers4Cuba
Containers 4 Cuba is a Cuba solidarity group founded by union retirees. We are endorsed by the Ontario Federation of Labour. Our work is funded by union and individual donations. Our next shipment is packed and ready to go, but due to the illegal blockade of the U.S. government, no ships are travelling directly to Cuba from Canada at this time.

Faced with no ocean shipping options, C4C has pivoted and forged a partnership with Health Partners International Canada. Working together, we are shipping approximately 3,750 pounds of pharmaceuticals by air cargo to Holguin and Baracoa in October 2026. This shipment will provide 36,000 treatments and has a value of $300,000. We hope it will be the first of many.

Comida4Cuba
We are also setting up a food solidarity project called Comida 4 Cuba, for vulnerable Cubans in the eastern provinces. Working with Cuba's Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP) we are spending $2400 a month to purchase groceries and have them distributed to programs for children, the elderly and the disabled.

While we look for ocean shipping alternatives, we plan to ship medical supplies by air. This will obviously be more expensive than ocean shipping, but we are determined to get aid to Cuba in spite of the illegal blockade!

Calixto Garcia Solidarity Brigade
The Calixto Garcia Solidarity Brigade will also be going to Cuba from approximately November 29 to December 11, 2026. You can get more information about the brigade by emailing: calixtogarciabrigade@gmail.com.

Write the PM and your elected politicians

Write your MP - find their email https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en - and Prime Minister, mark.carney@parl.gc.ca, demanding:

  • Canada publicly affirm opposition to U.S. blockade.

  • Increase direct aid to Cuba, including energy resources.

  • Ottawa should work with airlines to reinitiate direct flights to Cuba immediately.

  • Expand Canada-Cuba trade to stabilize the Cuban economy.
