A New York Times article, where the government of Guatemala has publicly apologized to the family of former president Jacobo Arbenz for the 1954 U.S.-backed military coup that ousted him and his government.

At least 105 people have been killed in flooding and landslides provoked by 10 days of heavy rains in Central America, officials have said.

Heavy rains pounded Central America on Tuesday, where more than 80 people have died in mudslides and flooding over the past week as swollen rivers destroyed bridges and submerged roads.
